For: Be Afraid 2007-Favorite Scary Movie Halloween Contest

wow. this took about a week and is my first full illustration with my new Wacom Intuos3 tablet entirely in PCS2.

i think i love horror movies so i went to my collection to see what scene/character i would like to illustrate...and realized i owned like 4 real horror movies...so i guess i like them but not enough to own many. i apparently enjoy more horror/scifi, oh well. so i checked some online lists to refresh my memory and find some obscure character or film and came to realize i like a lot of really bad horror films.. and about 7 franchise horrors with characters i assumed everyone else would illustrate

...thus i fell back on what i said i wasn't going to do in the first place (again because i thought everyone else would do it).......ASH. i've been watching Army of Darkness since i was a kid and have thus loved Bruce Campbell accordingly (total Brisco County Jr. fan).

and there it is, not really a great likeness but i more so wanted to capture the insanity of the moment from the film.

as well as the actual scene from Army of Darkness
probably © by the lovable curmudgeon Sam Raimi and hell, why not Bruce Campbell too. ok and probably Dino DeLaurentis but that's IT!

yeah this even surprised me, so i don't really know what that says about my skills. i don't usually go for full illustration pieces (though i'm becoming more intrigued) so when i got done i was like "HOLY CRAP i did that thing that real artists do!".
